Our Mission
To bring together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support, and national recognition. Changing Women's Lives....One Woman at a Time!
The New-Roc ABWA Chapter formed in 1978 and will be celebrating its 30th Birthday in June 2008. The New-Roc ABWA Chapter is made up of a growing group of women from Newton and Rockdale counties in Georgia who either live, work, and/or play here.
The goals of the chapter are to:
- Increase the business efficiency of all members;
- Improve the earning power of all members;
- Promote good relations between employers and employees;
- Assist members in securing employment, advance members in a social, business and educational way; and,
- Assist women in the community to better themselves through professional development.
We are part of the National ABWA organization. With the most diverse membership of any professional women's organization, diversity is one of ABWA's greatest strengths. The strength of our diversity works for you in the creation of different membership options. Since each ABWA member is unique, with difference interests and needs, ABWA offers options for every businesswoman at every career phase.
The New-Roc Charter Chapter gets involved both nationally and locally. We have won 20 Star Awards, a prestigious award with many achievement requirements in membership, activities, etc. that is awarded nationally! The Star Award designates our Chapter as providing ABWA Best Practices in Group Management. We regularly attend the fall National Conferences, spring Regional Conferences, Area Council Meetings and other ABWA functions. Our Chapter holds monthly luncheons with a business or marketing-related program, and quarterly evening socials. Plus, there are other socials planned in the year.
Our chapter strives to offer ways for our members to get involved with the community and network with members. We offer educational opportunities through our programs, leadership conferences, and scholarships opportunities. We strive to help all of our members be successful!
